Joanna Atherfold

Joanna Atherfold Finn is a local author and tutor. She completed her communications degree while working as a communications and contracts manager and received her PhD in English from the University of Newcastle. Her first book, Watermark, a collection of coastal short fiction, was published by Simon & Schuster in 2018. Participating in Plastic Free July and having personal exposure to the plastics issue following a shipping container spill resulted in Joanna being far more aware of the implications of single-use plastics on our environment. She has joined Plastic Free Port Stephens to assist other like-minded people to make a difference.

Jodi Frizzel

I am Jodi. I am a local business woman who traded a brick and mortar business to pursue a new passion and inspire positive change. Growing up in Port Stephens has given me a strong connection to our local land, ocean and people.
I don’t claim to know everything about environmental issues or solutions but I don’t want to do nothing. We cannot afford to!
I do know that every little bit counts and education & solutions are at the core of positive movement. Being a part of Plastic Free Port Stephens is a way to proactively inspire change. I’m in! Who else is in??

Chontelle Grecian

Chontelle has been a passionate environmentalist since studying climate change at high school, launching Planet Ark to businesses in the UK and supporting Planet Ark’s work in Australia through a background in marketing. Her passion to create a plastic free environment in our beautiful Port Stephens, stems from the desire to see her children enjoy a clean, safe environment and to protect our wildlife and marine life. Learning about alternatives herself, she hopes to find sustainable ways for her family to live a plastic-free lifestyle.

Rob Peel

Rob has lived and worked in Port Stephens for almost 25 years. He enjoys spending his free time with his young family on and around our beautiful waterways and is a passionate advocate for tourism and sharing our pristine environment. Through involvement in Plastic Free Port Stephens, Rob hopes to continue to learn more about alternatives to plastic and also to work closely with local businesses to help them transition towards more environmentally friendly products.

Lea Seeto

I grew up here in the bay , always in the water so I’m in awe of its beauty.
You must protect what you love right? That’s why I’m with PFPS, a group of like minded passionate people helping our community find solutions to reduce plastic pollution in Port Stephens.
